“The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it, too. At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So they hid from the LORD God among the trees.”
Genesis 3:6-8 NLT
Just when Adam and Eve were enjoying that fruit (sin) that they had wanted so badly (disobedience and rebellion), God opened their eyes and they saw Truth. I'd never seen this scripture this way until this morning. This is another confirmation for me. God can and will reveal Himself to our children right in the middle of their sin and rebellion.
I'm trying very hard to stand on His promises to me, Jeremiah 31:16-17 and Hebrews 10:23. Now I can add this verse to my list.
The conversations I've had with my own son don't even sound like him speaking. He's being fed so many lies and believing them all. This "lifestyle of love" sure breeds a lot of hate!! I see satan's fingerprints all over my son's life. He's been disrespectful and downright hateful to me lately. He's separated from his family and hardly talks to any of us. His lifestyle is so far from where it once was.
In just looking at the circumstances, I could become very discouraged. I have to remember that what is unseen is more real than what is seen and that the Truth of God supersedes fact.
"It is Well" by Bethel
Far be it from me to not believe even when my eyes can't see that this mountain that's in front of me can be cast into the midst of the sea. Through it all, my eyes are on You. Through it all, all is well.
